We are Iooking for a PhD candidate and/or postdoctoral researcher to join a new, FWO-funded (Research Foundation Flanders) research project exploring plasticity in the brain and spinal cord during the learning of a novel motor skill. This project deliberately pushes beyond classic brain-centric approaches and aims to rethink how motor learning emerges across the entire central nervous system.
The position is based in Leuven, Belgium, an internationally renowned research hub with a strong neuroscience ecosystem, and access to state-of-the-art imaging infrastructure. The project is a collaboration with Julien Doyon and Caroline Landelle, combining expertise in motor neuroscience and advanced neuroimaging. Candidates will use a combination of fMRI and diffusion MRI techniques to investigate the functional and structural adaptations underlying motor skill learning.
Experience with brain and/or spinal cord imaging and data analysis is a major asset and will allow candidates to fully exploit the originality of the project.
