Reducing implant induced artifact

Hello spinalcordtoolbox team,
Not sure if this is a relevant doubt to ask. I work with MRI data acquired from the individuals with cervical spinal cord injury and they often have MRI compatible metal implants around the site of injury. Is there any way I can reduce the implant induced artifacts? I normally see very bright (hyperintense) structures around the metal implant.

Thank you,
Pawan

Hi Pawan, once the artifact is there, it is difficult to minimize its effect (there are ways, but it would require more than a small forum post to cover the details). It is better to address it during acquisition (eg see Siemens ‘WARP’ sequence).
